You can either make a direct connection through a single RJ45 Ethernet cable (Cat6 or higher recommended for maximum range and performance) or you connect it to a switch in your existing network to overcome distance limitations.<br><br>Versatile Connectivity Options<br>Use this HDMI over IP Extender with KVM function as a regular HDMI extender or as an HDMI KVM switch. As an extender, the HDMI and Ethernet ports can send up to 1080p@60Hz (1920 × 1080]) HDMI from your Blu-ray player, NVR/DVR, set-top box or game console to a remote display. There's an additional HDMI loop-out port on the transmitter so you can connect a display near the source for easier setup, while the IR feature lets you control the source remotely. As a full-control HDMI KVM switch, both modules also feature USB-A ports that connect your PC, laptop or MacBook® to the transmitter and your keyboard/mouse to the receiver. Since the HDMI KVM extender is independent from your OS, you can use any computer you choose as your remote workstation.
